Darkhazineh is inspired by the two W.G. Bagnall locomotives built in 1941 for the Darkhazineh Fields Railways (Iran). This 2'6" gauge railway had some 35 miles of track in the south east of the country, to supply materials and support the infrastructure at the oil fields of Masjed Suleyman. This line was also operated by other 0-6-2T locomotives from Kerr, Stuart and Peckett & Sons.
The model is powered by a Graham Farish Class 08 chassis. The cab roof is removable to reveal the fully detailed interior (and ease the installation of crew figures (not supplied). Original drawings have not been used in making this model, but the shape and style captures the character of the 0-6-2T built by W.G. Bagnall. The model has the same general proportions, but has had minor some changes from the prototype. Most notably the oil tanks beside the cab have been changed to coal bunkers, in order to give greater operational scope for the model. The model will negotiate 9" radius curves, but is intended to operate at its optimum on 12" radius curves.
The locos are supplied un-named, but include fitted W.G. Bagnall works plates. As usual, these models are equipped with NEM coupling pockets fitted with Peco GR-102 couplings. Each model is packaged with detailed instructions and collectors booklet, giving details of the model, the prototype and an anatomy of the features of the design.
